Every day, Alice and her Great Grandmama walk past the one hundred and twentythree year old poplar tree in the City Park. When the old tree is cut down by the work machines, they touch the rings of tree and travel back in time to when Mum, Grandma, Grandmama were children... When the Underground Railway was brand new, the people of the City danced among the ruins, the children wore red and blue ties, and everything was different, but a little bit just the same.
