Abe pops into his dad’s workplace for just a minute, but that’s enough time for him to run into Azure in the restroom, the blue rat who escaped from an experiment. Despite his severe allergy to fur, the boy decides to save the little animal. It soon becomes clear that he can’t hide him forever in their small apartment in the town where the boy lives, so Abe gets in touch with his grandparents, whom he hasn’t seen in quite some time.
In his grandparents’ overgrown garden, not only does Azure finally finds a loving home, but the life of the changes as well: while eating the treats of granny, learning to ride a bike, befriending dogs and cats, and sleeping under the stars, he realizes that his world has opened up and is full of adventure.
And the chance occurs to get his family icloser to peace as well.
